I like cats, so sue me.G.K. Chesterton: Some Great Quotes
I've read a little G.K. Chesterton (1874-1936) and he has a lot of good things to say about theology, religion and philosophy. He would often intertwine a lot of his ideas into his novels, many of them mysteries. Here are some pretty good quotes from him, some that you may have heard before:"To love means loving the unlovable. To forgive means pardoning the unpardonable. Faith means believing the unbelievable. Hope means hoping when everything seems hopeless."
“The chief object of education is not to learn things but to unlearn things.”
“The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist sees what he has come to see.”
“Just going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car.”
Many, many more, of course. Here's a page that has a lot of different Chesterton quotes. I also recommend Orthodoxy as a good nonfiction read and The Man Who Was Thursday for some fiction (there's lots of free Kindle digital editions on amazon.com).
